GoRhyme, Creative Platform for Poetry, Prose, Art & Music

Create to the Rhythm of You

This is the part of a website where you are supposed to talk about who you are, the part where you explain yourself to others and them them why they should listen to you.

This is where I struggle. I love poetry, prose, art, music, science and math. In real life these things are kept in separate boxes, handed to separate people. But I have never believed that. I think they are deeply interconnected, and that they complement each other in beautiful ways. GoRhyme exists because I needed a place where that was true.

So, welcome to GoRhyme, a creative platform focusing on poetry, prose, art, music and the mathematical foundation of creativity.

This site was born out of a simple love and wonder of what we create, simply as ex nihilo by act of talent and will, in all the shades and ways we are.

To me, creation is not the simple act of arranging words on a page, painting on a canvas or arranging notes in a song. It is a way of bringing into being a new way of seeing and passing this vision to others.

More Than Just Rhymes

While our name is GoRhyme, our mission has expanded and developed. This little site as a homage to all of the arts:

  • Poetry: For finding the perfect rhythm and structure.
  • Prose: Telling the stories that spring new from the mind.
  • Art: Seeing the world with fresh eyes and translating that for all to see.
  • Music: The joy of creating a fresh song.
  • Mathematics-The logic of creation

Why “GoRhyme”

I selected the name because it suggests action and movement, the joy and urge to create. It is a way, a commandment to go into the world and leave our mark. It is truly a wonderful thing that we all have our own unique, individual way to do this.

My slogan, “Create to the Rhythm of You,” reflects this thought. Whether that rhythm is the meter of a poem, the words in a story, the stroke of a brush loaded in color, a fresh set of notes, or the joy of the logic of the world, we all have our own unique story to tell. I believe the best use of life our life is to live that out fully and spread the message: create.

Meet the Creator: Kelly Gray

My name is Kelly Gray. I am a lifelong creative with a background in word, art and music. My special interest is math and science in tandem with creativity.

I design and direct everything on GoRhyme, the research frameworks, the writing, the creative concepts. These are mine. I use AI-assisted coding to bring those ideas to final form. Every tool is rigorously tested and stress-tested before it goes live; I care too much about the ideas behind them to let a bad user experience mar this site. All tools will eventually be open-sourced on GitHub, and coding itself is something I’m actively learning as I go, I pick up something new every day.

While my heart is in creation, my professional background is in health and education. I am a Registered Nurse and a Special Education Teacher (M.Ed., K-6 Certification).

It might sound like an unusual combination, but this mix shapes every tool you see on this site:

  • The Artist in me brings years of artistic experience to tools like Museum Spark, helping you learn to look closer and find inspiration in color and composition. My particular joy is passing this vision on to children.
  • The Writer in me ensures the prose and poetry tools respect the craft, offering complex forms like Villanelles for poets and narrative prompts for storytellers.
  • The Educator in me ensures every tool is “scaffolded.” I use my background in special education to break down complex tasks into manageable steps, helping children and adults get past the anxiety of the blank page or to embrace musical exploration. I also have a regular teaching certificate and incorporate math and science in many of my lessons, and highlight the ways creativity and logic combine.
  • The Community Nurse in me understands the emotional release of creativity. I strive to create tools that help us identify, process, and express what we truly feel.

Most importantly, I believe that creativity is for everyone, at every age, and capability. Whether you are here to write a sonnet, draft a chapter, sketch a masterpiece, write a composition, or simple learn about the logic of the underpinning of creation, you are welcome here.

Write on, Create on, Play on.
