GoRhyme Accessibility
GoRhyme is meant for everyone who loves poetry, prose, art, music, math, and astronomy. We want every visitor, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification, or other assistive technology, to be able to explore and create here.
Our goal
We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the standard most widely used for web accessibility. We also use the newer WCAG 2.2 as a guide when building new tools.
What we are doing
In October 2026 we completed a full accessibility review of the site, covering every published page and interactive tool. We are now working through the findings in order of impact:
- Improving color contrast for links, buttons, and form fields across the site
- Making sure every button and control can be reached and used with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator
- Adding labels so screen readers can name each control
- Announcing tool results to screen reader users when they appear
- Adding text descriptions to visual tools and diagrams
We are fixing the tools with the biggest barriers first and testing each one with a keyboard and a screen reader before moving on. We will update this page as work is completed.
Known limitations
Some of our art tools let you draw freehand with a mouse, trackpad, or touchscreen. Freehand drawing itself requires a pointing device, but we are working to make every other part of these tools, such as color choices, brush settings, undo, and saving, usable from the keyboard.
Some features come from outside services, such as embedded players, news feeds, and image collections. We choose these with care, but we cannot always control how accessible they are.
Tell us about a problem
If you run into anything on GoRhyme that is hard to use, or you need content in a different format, please let us know. Tell us the page and what happened, and we will work with you to get you what you need. We aim to respond within five business days, and can be reached by the form below or directly at gorhyme@gorhyme.com.
