Interactive Word Web Generator
Before you can write about something, you sometimes need to see how it connects to everything else. Our word web generator maps those connections visually, branching out from a central word into the related ideas, descriptors, and associations that surround it. This page has two generators depending on what you need: one for mapping a single word in depth, and one for seeing how multiple words relate to each other.
If you like wandering to and fro among words try the constellation poetry in the poetry tool hub to explore similar visual thought.
Single Word Web Generator
Enter one word and choose whether you want to map its nouns, adjectives, or let it run across both. The generator branches outward from your central word, showing the network of associated terms. Click any node to expand it and keep branching, or right-click to collapse a branch that isn’t useful. The path tracker at the top shows you where you’ve been, so you don’t lose your starting point.
This is useful when you have a subject but don’t yet know your angle. Mapping “ocean” might take you toward vastness and depth, or toward boundaries and crossing, depending on which branch you follow.
Multi Word Web Generator
The Multi-Word Web Generator lets you build a connected map from several starting words at once, showing you how different concepts link to each other. Use Auto, Noun, or Adjective to control the type of associations generated, and use Prune Leaves to trim branches that are cluttering the map, the pruning tool makes it easy to control the size, while preserving the path you have taken.
This tool works well when you’re writing about a relationship between two things and want to see where they overlap before you start drafting
